Run the loader as administrator so it can inject.

Required — CS2 launch option Before you inject, add -allow_third_party_software to CS2's launch options in Steam. Without it the injection is blocked and CS2 will crash on load. See step 1 below.

How to run

  1. Set the CS2 launch option

    Open Steam → right-click Counter-Strike 2 → Properties. In the Launch Options field, paste -allow_third_party_software and close. This is a Valve-official switch that lets the loader inject while VAC stays on (it lowers your trust factor slightly).

  2. Verify your key

    Head to the loader page, paste your access key, click Verify key. If it says "KEY VERIFIED", you're good.

  3. Download the loader

    Click Download loader. Your key is baked into this exact copy — it won't work with anyone else's key.

  4. Run the loader

    Right-click aether-loader.exe → Run as administrator. A small window pops up: "Key valid. Launch CS2 within 60 seconds."

  5. Launch Counter-Strike 2

    Open Steam and start CS2 normally. The loader detects the game and injects. When you're in-game, the menu opens with INSERT (default).

First launch = HWID lock The first time you run the loader, your key binds to your PC's hardware ID. After that, this key only works on this machine. Timer also starts on first launch — not when the key was generated.

Common problems

"Cannot reach the auth server"

The loader can't reach cs2loader.aetherscripts.io. Check your internet, disable any VPN that blocks non-browser traffic, and make sure your firewall / antivirus isn't sandboxing the loader.

"Bound to a different PC"

Your key was first activated on another machine and is HWID-locked to it. This is intentional to prevent sharing. If you legitimately swapped hardware, contact support to reset the HWID for your key.

"Your key has expired"

The time on your key has run out. Buy a new one and enter it on the loader page.

"CS2 not detected within 60 seconds"

You didn't open CS2 in time, or it didn't finish launching. Re-run the loader and launch CS2 immediately.

CS2 crashes the moment the loader injects

You're missing the launch option. Steam → CS2 → Properties → Launch Options → paste -allow_third_party_software and try again. Without it, CS2 refuses foreign DLLs and crashes.

"Injection failed: OpenProcess failed (run loader as admin)"

The loader needs admin rights to inject. Right-click aether-loader.exe → Run as administrator.

"This loader was not personalised"

You downloaded a raw template rather than a keyed loader. Go back to the loader page, verify your key, and use the Download loader button — that generates a personalised copy for you.

Windows SmartScreen warns me the exe is dangerous

The loader isn't code-signed (yet), so SmartScreen flags it as unknown. Click More info → Run anyway. If you don't trust the file, don't run it.

Keep your key private Anyone with your key can generate a personalised loader — but the first activation binds to their PC, not yours, and you'll lose access. Never share it in screenshots, streams, or chats.
